Privacy policy

Last updated: August 3, 2026

At Kai Career Elevate, your data belongs to you. This policy explains what data we process, why, and how you can exercise your rights.

Your Cuenta Kai (family identity)

Sign-up and sign-in for Kai Career Elevate are operated by Cuenta Kai (id.kaistrategylab.com), the identity service of the Kai family, under the same ownership, not an unrelated third party. When you sign in, Cuenta Kai confirms to us your identifier, email, name, language and whether your email is verified; none of your content on the Platform (not your essence, your evidence, or your conversations with the coach) travels to Cuenta Kai. Your password lives there (as an irreversible hash), and it is changed and recovered there. Its terms: id.kaistrategylab.com/legal/privacidad.

Data we process

Account data: name and email address (your password lives in your Cuenta Kai, not here). Profile data you provide: country, year of birth, role, industry, and experience. Content you generate: conversations with the coach, your essence, evidence, paths, and analyses. Usage data: activity, progress, and AI feature consumption.

If you purchase a paid plan, we also process billing data: your purchase history (what you bought, the amount, the date, the payment status, any discount code you used, and the reference the payment gateway assigns to each payment). We do not process your card or payment method details: they never pass through the Platform.

How we use it

To provide the service: run diagnostics, generate your path, guide you, and show your progress. To operate your account and measure AI usage. To manage the purchase, charging, and renewal of your plan, and to handle refund requests. To improve the Platform through aggregated statistics. We do not sell your personal data.

If you tick the newsletter box when you create your account, we use your name and email address to send you commercial communications about Kai Career Elevate and the Kai family. That sending is done by Kai News, our own email platform (same owner), and only those who ask for it are on that list: the box starts unticked. You can unsubscribe at any time from the link included in every email, and doing so does not affect your account.

Artificial intelligence

Some features send the necessary content to AI model providers to generate responses: OpenAI for the conversation, writing, and analysis features, and Perplexity for the deep research features, which also consult public sources on the web. When a piece of research is tailored to you, the content sent includes the summary of your professional profile and whichever goal you have active: that is what allows the report to speak about your case rather than a generic one. This processing is limited to what is strictly necessary to deliver your result. We do not use your personal content to train our own models.

Payments

Payments are processed by our external payment gateway, dLocal Go, a product of the company dLocal: when you buy, we take you to its payment page and you return to the Platform when you are done. You enter your card or payment method details there directly; they do not pass through the Platform, we do not see them, and we do not store them.

To create a charge, we send the gateway the amount, an internal order reference, and the description of what you are buying. If you take out a subscription, we also send your email address and an internal identifier for your account, so that the gateway can identify you as a recurring subscriber and so that we can later recognize which subscription is yours.

From the gateway we receive the payment status, the amount, and our order reference; for subscriptions, also the subscriber's email address, which we use to link the subscription to your account. The gateway processes that data under its own terms and may be located outside Colombia.

Sending emails

To send you emails we use the external provider Resend, to which we hand over your name and your email address. Emails only go out in two cases: when the support team resets your password (a temporary password goes out) and when you report a problem or a suggestion from the help section (your message goes out, so that we can reply to you). Your Cuenta Kai emails (verification and password reset) are sent by Cuenta Kai, not by the Platform. We do not hand over your essence, your evidence, or your conversations with the coach. Resend processes that data under its own terms and may be located outside Colombia.

Retention and security

We retain your data for as long as your account is active and for as long as necessary to comply with legal obligations. We apply reasonable security measures, including password encryption and access controls.

The Platform and its database run on a virtual private server (VPS) that we rent from an infrastructure provider: they maintain the physical machine and we operate what runs inside it. The database is ours and lives on that same server, not in a third-party service. That provider may be located outside Colombia. Traffic between your browser and the Platform travels encrypted (TLS).

Your rights (habeas data)

Article 8 of Colombian Law 1581 of 2012 gives you six rights over your data. We list all six because that same law requires us to inform you of them, and because we are not the ones granting them: you have them by law, whether or not we write them here.

(a) To know, update and rectify your data. (b) To ask us for proof of the authorization you gave us to process it. (c) To ask us to tell you what use we have made of it. (d) To file complaints with the Superintendencia de Industria y Comercio (SIC), Colombia's data protection authority, if you believe we have failed to comply with that law. Write to us first: almost everything gets solved there, and the law also asks you to exhaust that step with us before going to the SIC (article 16). (e) To withdraw your authorization and ask us to delete your data. (f) To access your data free of charge.

On our own initiative, and without the law requiring it, we also let you export your data and object to certain kinds of processing. To exercise any of these rights, email us at careerelevate@kaistrategylab.com and we will help you.
